Naxxar Victorians FC can confirm that head coach Jake Agius has parted ways with the club by mutual agreement.

Agius has stepped down after a season and a half at the helm, citing personal reasons as well as recent team dynamics, with performances not reflecting the work and planning put into the squad.

Connor Muchmore will take charge of the team on an interim basis until a new head coach is appointed.

Agius first joined Naxxar Victorians as a player and remained with the club until the 2022/23 season. He later returned in a coaching role and took over as head coach in the summer of 2024.

During his time in charge, Agius led the Victorians to a record points tally last season, collecting 14 points from 12 matches and guiding the team to a third-place finish behind Swieqi United AFC and Qajjenza AFC.

While the club has found it harder to keep that same momentum this season, Agius’ contribution over the past few years remains an important part of the club’s recent history.

Naxxar Victorians FC would like to thank Jake for his work, commitment, and service to the club, both as a player and as head coach, and wishes him well for the future.
