The Naxxar Victorians ended their first season in the Malta Amateur Football Association in style. With Victorians top scorer for the 2017/18 season, Connor Muchmore and a number of committee members in attendance, the club collected its first official MAFA Awards.
Following a great debut season, the club managed to leave with The “Fair Play Award (Div 2). President, Karl Borg remarked that he was very happy with the progress which has been made by all of the club. He said that, ” This will be a very special award as it is the very first one which we shall put in our trophy cabinet”. The award goes well with the style of play which featured in the majority of performances shown by Naxxar Victorians throughout the season.
Yesterday’s ceremony also awarded the best player from each MAFA team. The award was given to the player who was the best on the pitch in the referees’ eyes. In this case, it was our prolific striker, Connor Muchmore who received the award after proving to be detrimental for the team to finish in the position we finished in last April.
The MAFA Presentation Dinner was held at a local establishment in Mgarr where committee members as well as a good number of players from all teams (both First and Second Division) dined together to celebrate the end of another successful season. A number of awards were given out, ranging from the Best (Team) Player, to the the League and Knock-out Winners trophies. We would like to thank the MAFA administration for the appreciation for our club’s efforts during this season.
From the Naxxar Victorians and www.naxxarvictorians.com team, we would like to congratulate all of the players for their efforts throughout the season which have led to our first award. A big “well done” goes to Connor Muchmore for another individual award, which he can now add to the ones received last Saturday at Night of the Victorians
