For the coming season, the Naxxar Victorians club has decided to move away from 8-a-side football. They have shifted onto an 11 man squad in order to take part in the Malta Amateur Football Association’s weekly league. This means that the era of the ‘Victorians FT’ is now over after a great five years.
The team, now managed by newcomer, Anthony Spiteri has been in full force- holding trials and friendlies in order to bring to the table the best possible squad they can. Asked about pre-season training, the team has announced that this will begin as soon as the 18th of July.
In celebration of this new challenge for the Victorians, the team has even created a new logo, updated from their previous one, used in other amateur leagues involving 8-a-side teams.
They have also shifted from their previous home-base which was Gharghur, moving towards San Gwann as their new training grounds.
The club committee has announced that trials will be over by end of July as the team would be focusing solely on being in the best shape and mentality for the new season.
The club wishes to take this opportunity to thank all F.A.L. organizers for the great experience, these last three seasons in particular!
